Herbal Soothe'n Salve
A concentrated botanical barrier for dry, reactive, and sensitive skin — from head to toe, and paw to nose.
When skin needs more than moisture — it needs protection.
Some skin doesn't just need hydration. It needs a gentle, breathable barrier between itself and the world. This salve was formulated for exactly that — a concentrated blend of shea butter, herbal-infused hempseed oil, and beeswax that sits on the skin's surface, locks in moisture, and shields against environmental stress.
No essential oils. No synthetic fragrances. No additives that commonly irritate reactive or delicate skin. Gentle enough for the whole family — and yes, gentle enough for the four-legged members too.
Salve vs. Cream — What's the Difference?
Our Herbal Intimate Whipped Cream absorbs into skin for moisture from within. This salve is different — it creates a protective layer on the surface of skin, acting as a breathable barrier that seals in moisture and shields from friction, dryness, and environmental irritation. Think of it as a botanical second skin.
Both contain the same five-herb infusion. Same gentleness, different function.
The Herbal Infusion — Five Botanicals Steeped Into Every Jar
Chamomile — one of the most recognized herbs in traditional European folk skin care. Associated for centuries with calming and soothing reactive skin. A natural anchor for any gentle, sensitive-skin formula.
Calendula — known in folk traditions as "pot marigold," calendula has been used in skin preparations for hundreds of years. Traditionally valued for its role in supporting skin appearance during everyday wear and environmental exposure.
Rose — long associated in folk wellness traditions with softening and conditioning the skin. Gentle, time-honored, and a natural companion for sensitive formulations.
Rosemary — a Mediterranean botanical with a long history in hair, scalp, and body care preparations. Traditionally associated with a healthy-looking skin and scalp appearance.
Plantain Leaf (Plantago major) — the underrated workhorse of herbal skin care. Used for centuries in traditional preparations for reactive, irritated, and environmentally stressed skin. Not the banana — the humble garden herb with a quietly impressive folk reputation.
Three Ingredients. Serious Protection.
Shea Butter — rich in vitamins A, E, and F, shea provides the deep, lasting moisture base that keeps this salve from feeling like a waxy coat. It nourishes while the beeswax protects.
Hemp Seed Oil (Herbal Infused) — lightweight, omega-rich, and the carrier for all five botanical infusions. Absorbs into the lower layers of the skin beneath the protective beeswax surface layer.
Beeswax — the natural emulsifier that gives this salve its concentrated, stay-put texture and creates the breathable barrier on the skin's surface. This product contains beeswax and is therefore not vegan — see our Herbal Intimate Whipped Cream for our fully vegan sensitive-skin alternative.
No essential oils. No synthetic fragrances. No petroleum-based fillers.
When To Reach For It
- Dry patches and chronically dry areas
- Skin prone to friction or moisture irritation in skin folds or delicate areas
- Chapped, cracked hands and feet
- Skin after sun exposure or environmental stress needing a protective barrier
- Tattoo aftercare — a gentle, botanical option during the healing and moisturizing phase
- Cuticles, elbows, knees, and other persistently dry spots
- Dog paws and noses — the same gentle, fragrance-free formula that works for sensitive human skin works beautifully for your pet's most exposed areas
How To Use
Apply to clean skin where protection and moisture are desired. The salve can be worked gently into the skin for moisture, or left on the surface to serve as a barrier between skin and environment — both applications are valid and effective depending on what your skin needs.
For severely dry or cracked hands and feet: apply a generous amount, then cover with a sock or glove and leave overnight. One of the most effective natural treatments for deep, persistent dryness — and a longtime customer favorite.
Care Tip: Avoid leaving in high heat — the natural base may soften. Botanical properties are unaffected by texture changes.

FAQ
How is a salve different from a cream or butter? A salve has a higher wax content — in this case beeswax — which means it creates a surface barrier rather than absorbing fully into skin. Use a cream or butter for moisture absorption; use this salve when skin needs barrier protection, shielding, or intensive overnight repair.
Is this safe for sensitive skin? Yes. It contains no essential oils, no synthetic fragrances, and none of the additives most commonly associated with skin irritation. The five-herb infusion uses botanicals with long folk traditions of use on gentle and reactive skin.
Is it safe for the whole family? Yes — the fragrance-free, essential-oil-free formula makes this one of the gentlest products in our lineup, appropriate for the most sensitive skin in your household.
Is it safe for pets? Yes — many customers use this on dog paws and noses. The formula contains no essential oils or synthetic additives that are commonly flagged for pet sensitivity. As always, prevent your pet from ingesting it in large amounts.
Is it vegan? This formula contains beeswax and is not vegan. For a fully vegan sensitive-skin alternative with the same herbal infusion, see our Herbal Intimate Whipped Cream.
Can I use it on tattoos? Yes — many customers use it as part of their tattoo aftercare routine during the moisturizing and protective phase. The fragrance-free, essential-oil-free formula is well-suited for healing or freshly healed skin.
Will it melt in summer? Natural wax-based products soften in extreme heat. Botanical properties are unaffected. Because of the higher beeswax content, this salve is actually more heat-stable than our whipped butters — but still worth keeping out of a hot car.

I bought this herbal soothe n salve for my dogs dry nose and paw pads. I’ve been using it for two weeks now and I can already tell a difference! His nose is no longer cracked and rough! It’s also helped his red burnt paws from the summer heat. Thank you for this! I will definitely be back!
I have very sensitive skin, so I'm wary to try new things. I was at the Downtown Summerlin Farmer's Market last month and saw the booth. I had just completed radiation therapy for breast cancer, which was 35 total treatments. I had been alternating between calendula ointment and my prescription eczema ointment during the treatments, but my skin was still discolored and I had moderate peeling after my final treatment. I started using this salve exclusively over the next few weeks, and my skin healed beautifully. I met with the surgeon two weeks ago who performed my lumpectomy in February, and she said that my skin looks like it has never been irradiated. I gave her the name of this product to pass along to her other breast cancer patients because I do believe it actually works. I've been using it on my chapped hands and lips, too, and I couldn't be happier with this product!
