Detox Clay Soap | Jumbo 8oz Bar
Deep-cleansing bentonite clay, activated charcoal, and jojoba — for oily, congested, and blemish-prone skin.
Face · Body · Hair
A cleanser built for skin that needs more than a gentle wash.
If your skin produces excess oil, struggles with congestion, or needs a genuinely deep cleanse to feel balanced — this bar was made for you. Built on a coconut oil soap base for maximum cleansing power and sustained lather, then loaded with bentonite clay, activated charcoal, kaolin clay, and jojoba oil — four ingredients that together lift impurities from deep within the pore while leaving skin moisturized rather than stripped.
At 8oz this jumbo bar is designed for face, body, and hair — a single bar that handles your whole clarifying routine.
Not recommended for eczema, dry, or sensitive skin. If you want the deep-cleanse benefit without the intensity, see our Activated Charcoal Face Soap — gentler formula, same clean result.
The Ingredients — What Each One Does
Bentonite Clay — a volcanic ash mineral clay with a naturally negative electromagnetic charge that makes it exceptionally effective at adsorbing positively charged impurities, excess sebum, and environmental residue from the surface of skin. When activated with water it swells and acts like a magnet for surface-level buildup — lifting what other cleansers leave behind. Widely used in professional facial and body cleansing treatments for its unmatched pore-clearing performance.
Activated Coconut Charcoal — activated charcoal has an extraordinarily porous surface area that binds to dirt, excess oil, and environmental impurities on the skin's surface, allowing them to be rinsed away cleanly. Contributes to the bar's visibly brightening effect and helps keep pores looking clear and minimized over time.
Kaolin Clay — a finer, gentler mineral clay that works alongside bentonite to lift surface impurities without the intensity of bentonite alone. Adds a smooth, silky quality to the lather and contributes to the bar's creamy texture. The reason this bar cleanses deeply without feeling harsh mid-wash.
Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis) — one of the most skin-compatible botanical oils available. Technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, jojoba closely resembles the skin's own natural sebum at a similar pH — making it uniquely suited to oily and congested skin types that need moisture without adding to the problem. Rated among the lowest on the cosmetic comedogenic scale. Rich in vitamins A, E, and D plus antioxidants and fatty acids.
Coconut Oil Soap Base — provides the deepest natural cleanse available in a bar soap format. High in lauric acid, which gives this bar its big, sustained, satisfying lather and its powerful surface-cleansing performance.
Coconut Milk — adds creaminess to the lather and a conditioning quality that prevents the over-stripping that leaves oily skin producing even more oil in response. The reason this bar scores a 3 on creaminess despite its powerful cleansing rating.
Shea Butter — adds a moisturizing cushion to an otherwise highly cleansing formula. Leaves a subtle conditioning finish after rinsing.
Castor Oil — contributes to lather quality and adds slip to the bar during use.
Eucalyptus & Clove Essential Oils — an invigorating, clarifying scent combination that makes each wash feel genuinely refreshing. Eucalyptus opens and clove grounds — a pairing that works equally well for a morning face wash or a post-workout body cleanse.
Bar Profile
A transparent look at what this bar does and how it performs — rated 0 to 5:
Hardness: ████░ 4 — a firm bar that holds its shape and lasts well between uses
Cleansing: █████ 5 — maximum cleansing power, designed for oily and congested skin
Conditioning: ██░░░ 2 — leans cleansing over conditioning; follow with a moisturizer
Bubbly: ████░ 4 — rich, sustained lather from the coconut oil base
Creamy: ███░░ 3 — coconut milk and shea add a creamy quality without softening the cleanse
Exfoliating: █░░░░ 1 — gentle physical exfoliation from the clays; not a scrub
Scent Strength: ███░░ 3 — present and invigorating without being overpowering
Who This Bar Is For
For oily, congested, combination, and blemish-prone skin that needs a genuinely powerful cleanse. For scalps that feel oily, flaky, or in need of a clarifying reset between regular washes. For post-workout body cleansing when a standard bar just isn't cutting through.
Not recommended for eczema, sensitive, or very dry skin — the high cleansing rating means it will feel stripping on skin that's already compromised. See our Herbal Soothe'n Salve and Herbal Intimate Whipped Cream for sensitive skin alternatives, or our Activated Charcoal Face Soap for a gentler clarifying option.
How To Use
For face and body: Touch the bar directly to wet skin and rub gently all over. Set the bar aside and continue working up a lather with your hands for a creamy, cleansing result. You can also rub the bar into a washcloth or loofah to build lather before applying. Rinse thoroughly.
For hair and scalp: Touch the bar to wet hair and rub along the scalp. Work the lather through from roots to ends. Rinse thoroughly and follow with the Whipped Chebe Butter or Chebe Hair & Scalp Oil to restore moisture after a clarifying wash.
Follow with a non-comedogenic moisturizer: After cleansing, skin needs moisture — especially oily skin, which can produce more oil in response to over-drying. Our All Over Whipped Cream or All Over Whipped Butter both rate under 2 on the cosmetic comedogenic scale and are ideal post-cleanse moisturizers for this bar.
Care Tip: Store on a soap saver between uses for maximum longevity. A well-drained bar lasts significantly longer than one sitting in water. Pair with our Cedar Wood Soap Saver.
The 8oz Advantage
At 8oz this bar is one of the largest natural cleansing bars available. Cut into portions for multiple household uses — one section for the bathroom, one for the shower, one for travel. With a soap saver and proper drainage, expect several months of regular use from a single bar.

FAQ
Is this too strong for daily use? For very oily skin, daily use is fine. For combination skin, 3–4 times per week is a good starting point. For anyone with dry patches or sensitivity, this bar is not recommended — see our Herbal Intimate Whipped Cream or Activated Charcoal Face Soap instead.
Can I use it on my face? Yes — it was formulated for face use. The jojoba and kaolin clay keep it from being purely stripping. That said, its cleansing score of 5 means it's best for oily and congested skin types. If your skin is dry, sensitive, or prone to irritation, use our Activated Charcoal Face Soap instead.
What's the difference between bentonite clay and kaolin clay? Bentonite is a more powerful adsorbing clay — best for deep impurity removal and oily skin types. Kaolin is finer and gentler — better for surface cleansing and sensitive or combination skin. This bar uses both: bentonite for the deep cleanse, kaolin for the smooth, creamy lather that makes the experience feel balanced rather than harsh.
Can I use this on my hair? Yes — particularly effective as a clarifying scalp wash for oily or flaky scalps. Use once a week or as needed between regular wash days. Follow with the Whipped Chebe Butter or Chebe Hair & Scalp Oil to restore moisture after a clarifying wash.
Does lye make it harsh? No. Lye is used in the saponification process that turns oils into soap. In a properly cured bar no free lye remains in the finished product. What remains is gentle, conditioning soap made from whole botanical oils.
How do I cut and store the 8oz bar? Use a sharp knife or bench scraper with firm, even pressure. Store unused portions wrapped in wax paper or in a small tin in a cool, dry place. Use a soap saver for your active portion to prevent water-logging and extend bar life significantly.

Skin feels clean , refreshed, invigorating. Soap lathers really well. Can't wait to visit the store
I bought it from their pop up store at Enchant, they have so many good essentials, like soaps, hair care, massage oils and so much more
I am not a "soap" person and generally prefer to stick with just one or two choices in the shower. The blue Detox Clay soap was a total surprise! The fragrance is amazing, refreshing, and invigorating! The soap lathers very nicely and unlike other store bought brands, it left my skin feeling clean and soft. Highly recommend !
